Albert Head Beach

This is without a doubt the beach we visit the most. The swimming and digging is just so dog gone awesome year round.
Located in Colwood, off Metchosin Road. This beach and adjoining lagoon is accessed by taking the first ocean side road past the old gravel pits.  There is room for approx 10 vehicles right at the beach.  No facilities.
The walk along the beach towards Colwood is easy on the pebbled beach. We've often seen deer and seals on that end of the beach. The walk in the opposite direction  leads to the lagoon outflow (beware: the lagoon is full of wild swans, geese and ducks... I', assuming the water is full of bacteria). Crossing  over the creek to the trails on the other side leading to DND land.
Most days there are sea lions on the rocks in the bay. Eagles, hawks, vultures and other birds of prey can be spotted in the air and surrounding trees.
